Principal VFX Artist

The VFX Art function contributes to game development by producing real-time visual effects that enhance gameplay clarity, narrative impact, and environmental immersion. It involves creating and integrating particle systems, shaders, and visual assets using game engines, while ensuring technical performance and visual quality across platforms. This function supports and maintains workflows and pipelines related to asset creation, optimization, and implementation, with attention to real-time rendering constraints. It operates collaboratively with art, design, programming, and production teams to ensure that visual effects align with the game's artistic direction and functional requirements, and are efficiently integrated into the overall development process.

  • Strong knowledge and experience with modern game engines/editors such as Unreal, Unity, proprietary, etc.
  • Ability to make a quick and complex search for new VFX solutions, as well as use ready-made solutions from the top products on the market as references
  • Expert knowledge of Photoshop
  • Extensive expertise in FumeFX, RealFlow, EmberGen
  • Advanced level in Houdini and Maya: expert understanding of these DCC visual effects packages, competent working with joints and locators, animation/keyframing, rigid-body and fluid simulations, materials, shaders, lighting and rendering
