Lead — Art
A Lead in the Art discipline owns the visual quality, the execution of art direction and the delivery of an art team (for example environment, character, technical, VFX, lighting or UI art). The role combines high-level hands-on craft with leadership: providing clear visual direction and feedback, reviewing assets for artistic and technical quality, mentoring and managing artists, establishing visual benchmarks and pipelines, planning delivery with production, and managing outsourced art to the studio's standards.
- Strong art fundamentals and senior hands-on experience in the relevant art domain
- Proficiency in industry tools (commonly Photoshop, Maya/3ds Max, ZBrush, Substance suite; Unreal/Unity) and performance-aware asset creation
- Ability to set visual benchmarks, provide clear art direction/feedback and review assets for quality and technical compliance
- Experience leading, mentoring and managing artists, including reviews and recruitment
- Understanding of art pipelines, optimisation and cross-team (programming/production) workflows
