midweight Technical Audio Designer

Technical Audio Designers create and maintain the technical systems that enable sound to function within interactive environments, combining sound design with technical implementation to ensure audio behaves correctly and efficiently during gameplay. Their work typically includes designing and implementing sound effects and interactive audio elements, developing and maintaining audio tools, scripts, and pipelines, integrating audio assets into game engines, troubleshooting and debugging audio systems and tools, and supporting performance and memory requirements across platforms. This role commonly collaborates with sound designers and audio programmers while also working closely with programmers, game designers, artists, and other developers to ensure audio systems align with gameplay requirements and technical constraints.

Salary

£37.5k

  • Proficient with Wwise and Industry Standard DAWs (Reaper/Pro Tools)
  • Extensive knowledge of integrating audio into modern game engines
  • Proficient in creating and supporting node-based systems
  • Knowledge of scripting systems to develop customized, scalable automated solutions
  • Familiarity with C#, C++
  • Strong understanding of general audio production, including asset creation, mixing, and mastering and implementing content for interactive and linear media
  • Excellent debugging skills using the Wwise profiler and other tools
  • Ability to think around technical problems and design elegant, efficient solutions
