Principal QA Programmer

QA Programming supports the game development process by building and maintaining automated testing frameworks, tools, and processes that enable efficient, scalable, and reliable quality assurance. It focuses on transforming manual testing into automated solutions, integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines, and developing systems for functional, integration, regression, and performance testing. This role supports workflows related to test environment setup, defect logging, and quality validation across platforms, contributing directly to development efficiency and product stability. QA Programmers collaborate closely with software engineers, QA teams, DevOps, and technical disciplines within engines like Unreal to embed quality checks throughout the development lifecycle and ensure test coverage aligns with production needs.

  • Perform feature level test planning and test execution of individual features
  • Create test plans, perform white box testing, create scripts, automated tests, and verify data
  • Review manual tests for automation candidates
  • Generate analysis of outstanding defect load and recommend new areas of testing and areas to prioritise for fixes
  • Work with product owners, developers and QA management to define acceptance criteria, identify risks, and plan testing coverage for upcoming features / releases
  • Examine technical gaps and automation initiatives between geographically distributed teams
