Principal Systems Programmer

Systems Programming in game development focuses on creating and maintaining the low-level and core systems that support game functionality, development tools, and infrastructure. This role involves programming engine-level features, developing content pipelines, and optimising runtime systems to ensure performance and stability across platforms. It supports workflows such as asset processing, deployment automation, and code integration while managing both Linux and Windows server environments, storage, and virtualisation. Regular responsibilities include building tools to improve iteration efficiency, writing robust and maintainable code, and ensuring system-level functionality aligns with project needs. Collaboration is frequent with design, content creation, QA, IT operations, and other engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable systems that underpin the entire development process.
