Principal Technical Designer
A Technical Designer contributes to game development by implementing and refining gameplay systems, missions, and features through scripting languages, proprietary tools, and node-based visual scripting, ensuring technical functionality and creative intent are maintained. They are responsible for designing, prototyping, iterating, polishing, and debugging gameplay content and systems, balancing mechanics for an optimal player experience, and maintaining documentation for workflows and technical processes. Supporting workflows such as scripting pipelines, tool development, and gameplay system integration, they also help identify and address technical risks, optimize performance, and reduce maintenance challenges. Technical Designers collaborate extensively with design, engineering, art, animation, audio, narrative, and cinematic teams to ensure the seamless integration of assets and systems, contributing to the overall quality and technical robustness of the game.
