Senior Systems Designer
Systems Design focuses on creating and maintaining the foundational gameplay systems that support long-term engagement, player progression, and core mechanics. This role involves designing and implementing systemic features such as rewards, progression structures, economies, and abilities through detailed documentation, prototyping, and scripting. It supports workflows involving iteration, playtesting, data analysis, and balance tuning to ensure systems are functional, engaging, and aligned with player motivations. The role contributes to content and tool pipelines by modeling, testing, and refining systems within technical constraints. It requires close collaboration with teams across engineering, animation, UI/UX, production, and other design disciplines to ensure systems are well-integrated, accessible, and aligned with overall gameplay goals.
- A solid understanding of game balancing and related mathematics
- Strong knowledge of multiplayer and simulation games and their player motivations
- A deep understanding of engine architecture and experience of the full development lifecycle
- Deep understanding of social dynamics in online games and the ability to create systems that foster positive and engaging player interactions
- Experience designing progression or “levelling” systems
- Experience with progression, customisation, and economy game systems that require management and fine tuning of large bodies of data
- Advanced C++ programming skills and knowledge of Unreal engine, blueprints scripting, and the gameplay ability system
